Advertising Disclosure

How ads work on PupVoice, who serves them, and the line they never cross.

The short version

  • Ads keep PupVoice free to read — they are how this work gets funded.
  • Ads are served by third-party partners such as Mediavine and Google. We don’t hand-pick them.
  • Advertisers get no say in what we publish and never see stories early.
  • You control personalized ads — you can opt out at any time.

PupVoice is an independent publication. Reporting, verifying, and publishing dog stories costs money, and display advertising is what pays for it. This page explains exactly how that works — and what it will never change.

Why we run ads

Reading PupVoice is free, and we want to keep it that way — no paywall, no subscription, no donation appeals. The ads you see fund the reporting, the verification, and the site itself. When a story helps a dog find a home, advertising is what made that story free for everyone to read and share.

Who serves the ads

Ads on this site are or may be served by third-party advertising partners, including Mediavine and Google. These partners manage which ads appear, where they appear, and how often. We do not select individual ads, and the appearance of an ad on PupVoice is not our endorsement of the product or service being advertised.

How ads are chosen

Advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to decide which ads to show, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether ads work. Where permitted, ads may be personalized based on your interests; otherwise they are contextual or non-personalized.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, personalized advertising runs only with your consent, collected through a Google-certified consent management platform. The full detail of what data is involved lives in our privacy policy.

Your choices

Ads never touch our editorial

The wall between advertising and editorial is absolute. Advertisers never see stories before publication, never influence what we cover or how we cover it, and cannot pay to have a dog, product, or organization featured. Our full standards live in our editorial policy.

We do not currently publish sponsored content. If that ever changes, sponsored pieces will be labeled so clearly that you could not mistake them for our reporting.

Affiliate links

Separately from display advertising, some pages may recommend products through affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How that works is covered in our affiliate disclosure.

See a bad ad?

Ads are placed automatically, and occasionally a low-quality or misleading one slips through. If you see an ad on PupVoice that seems scammy, inappropriate, or broken, take a screenshot, note the page you saw it on, and tell us. We report bad ads to our advertising partners and block the advertiser where possible.
